Proper tire storage is so important because tires are made of rubber, a material that behaves in unintentional ways in the wrong circumstances. For example, direct sunlight promotes aging of the tires. Even high temperatures and humidity have an adverse effect on the life of the tires; they can become porous and therefore unstable. Also contact with oils, fats or gasoline should be avoided during storage.

Individual Tyre Storage

The regular change between winter and summer tires is essential for safe traffic participation. It’s also safer to have both summer and winter tyres. While winter tire sets might be pricey, they are more than worth it due to their added safety. The same goes for summer tyres – specialised tyres perform better than “all-season” tyres. However, you do need a safe and convenient place to store your tyres. Not only do they take a lot of space, but temperature conditions and high humidity can negatively affect the durability of your tires.
